Christopher Kunney most recently served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Services for Piedmont Healthcare located in Atlanta, Georgia. His responsibilities included planning and directing information services and developing long-term strategies and resource requirements across the health system.

Christopher is a 1987 graduate of Fort Valley State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/mathematics. He also earned his Executive Master of Science in Management of Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1998. In addition to his formal education, Christopher received various certifications in the areas of healthcare information technology (CPHIT), customer relationship management (CRM), technical management, total quality control, project management and other various IT related fields of study.

Christopher brings a wealth of experience having gained his foothold in companies such as Hewlett-Packard and Verso Technologies. During his career, He served in various senior-level IT management positions focusing on application development, e-commerce consulting, network and data center operations, technical engineering, quality, project management and business development.

An active participant in his community, Christopher served as an Adjunct Professor for DeVry University and sits on DeVry’s Industry Advisory Roundtable. He’s also been an active volunteer for the Adopt-A-Village Project, sponsored by the Metro Atlanta Neurosurgery Foundation. In addition, Kunney is a 25-year-member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and faithful member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA, for over 13 years. Some of his most recent accolades include becoming the recipient of the first annual Minority Scholarship Award from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). He has served as Director of the Information Technology Committee and award winner for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Black MBA Association. Kunney is a member in good standing of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Georgia Association of Healthcare Executive (GAHE) and National Association of Healthcare Service Executives (NAHSE).
